About the Position
We are seeking a business management department supervisor/accountant for a public accounting firm. Our candidate has at least 7 years of experience as a business management
department supervisor or equivalent management experience. You will be handling business management client accounts along with the accounting for those clients.

FBD is a full‐service very sophisticated accounting firm that specializes in representing very high-net-worth individuals and their various businesses. We do not accept clients that generate less
than $25,000 a year in fees and do not accept once-a-year tax clients. We specialize in Tax Planning, Tax Services, Trusts & Estates, Accounting and Auditing, Entertainment, and Business
Management, and Business Advisory and Consulting Services.

Consisting of over forty employees and five partners, and two principals we have dedicated ourselves to hiring and retaining the highest caliber of accountants and professional personnel
possible. Our clients and their employees can always count on receiving personal attention and rapid response.

Our staff members form a team working closely with our clients. We retain our employees and our clients. Many staff members and clients have been with the firm for more than 10 years. The devotion to continuity, staying technically proficient, and providing the highest quality work possible have allowed FBD to grow into one of the larger firms in Los Angeles.

We do not actively market our firm in any way. The partners spend the majority of their professional time serving clients. We only grow and maintain our practice through the referral of satisfied clients and their teams of professional advisors. We are truly independent financial advisors. We do not accept commissions or referral fees, and we do not sell any financial services products.

Our business management department employs four staff which handle primarily entertainment clients in both the film and music industries.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides professional and prompt attention to clients ‐ client service is a top priority.
  • Performs and reviews all financial reporting functions including monthly cash flows and contract analysis.
  • Coordinate deadlines and interact with the Tax Department relative to due dates as they relate to all business management clients.
  • Review processing of AP, AR, cash receipts, journal entry coding, general ledger, and payroll,
  • Review accuracy of 1099s, business licenses, 571L property statements, and payroll tax
    returns prepared by business management staff.
  • Review basic financial statements and prepare more complex financial statements.
  • Must be able to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day and the week.
  • Must have the ability to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency.
  • Monitor credit card activity, fraud alerts, and credit score issues.
  • Monitor Insurance renewals and claims.
  • Other projects, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting is highly favored
  • Minimum 7 years experience as a business management department supervisor
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and possess good multi‐tasking skills
  • Must have great interpersonal skills, and be a team player with a professional attitude.
  • Software Experience in the following areas is desirable: AgilLink (Datafaction), Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Laserfiche, and CFS Tax Tools.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary is commensurate with experience, from $115k to $135K plus bonus:
  • You will be paid overtime for all hours worked above 40 hours per week;
  • Ability to work a certain number of hours from home;
  • You will be provided a computer to use at home, however: in‐house hours are preferred;
  • This position is eligible for annual bonuses depending on firm profitability and individual & team performance.
