Client Memo – Personal Information Security

by | Mar 15, 2014 | Client Memo, Security

As we strive to safeguard your sensitive personal information, we would like to remind you that regular email is not a secure method for sending sensitive data, such as your social security number or bank account information, to us. In addition to password protecting your documents with the last four digits of your social security number, we strongly recommend you use our secure and encrypted ShareFile link, https://fbco.sharefile.com, to send documents to us. With ShareFile, you will be able to securely and quickly transfer to us those files that are either too large or too confidential to email. If sent through ShareFile, you do not need to password protect each document.  You can send us an email requesting a ShareFile link and the link will be valid for up to six months.

This link is also available through our website www.fbco.com on the side panel under PORTALS, as well as in the footer area at the bottom of the webpage.  When you click on this ShareFile link, it will take you to a new window that gives you the option to choose which document to upload and select a staff member you want the document to go to.  There is no need for a username or password to upload files to us through this ShareFile link.  Once the file upload is completed, the designated staff member will receive an email notification that a new file has been sent to his or her file box. For security purposes, only the designated recipient would be able to download and retrieve your file. ShareFile also allows you to upload and send multiple files at once.

We hope you will find this ShareFile link as helpful, secure, and user-friendly as we do.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or comments regarding our commitment to client data security.
